Basic Banana Bread
This is the kind of recipe that lives in a family file, slightly worn, always reliable. Simple, sweet, and exactly what banana bread should be. I enjoy mine with butter and cheese then toasted in the air fryer ðŸ¤
Ingredients
1. Banana Bread
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 2 eggs
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup milk
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a loaf tin.
In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, cream the margarine and sugar until light and smooth.
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
Add half of the dry ingredients to the mixture and gently combine. Pour in half of the milk and mix, then repeat with the remaining flour mixture and milk.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf tin.
Bake for about 1 hour, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
Allow to cool slightly before slicing. Geniet!
